Surviving Society was founded by Katie to celebrate motherhood and empower women. Also, to build a community by spreading positive affirmations through slogan t-shirts and accessories which also promote equality for all.
We are all surviving something in our lives, not just society, and this includes Katie, who is a sepsis and depression survivor.
All adult and baby t-shirts have been sourced to ensure they are climate neutral meaning they have been manufactured with a low carbon footprint (90% reduction in C02 emissions). The t-shirt manufacturer is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation ensuring ethical trading so that workers are paid a fair wage, provided good working conditions and there is no forced or child labour. In addition, the t-shirts are certified with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) having met relevant regulations within the country the cotton was grown in and the EU.
The eco-friendly water based ink used for screen printing on all garments has been approved by the Soil Association due to most colours being organic and is printed locally in the UK. The inks are 100% solvent free.
Surviving Society hopes to raise awareness of the following issues:
- Reducing the fashion industry's carbon footprint and increasing its participation in Fair Trading.
- Sepsis awareness.
- Mental health awareness.
